A kind letter of Appreciation we received after our fantastic Cheltenham Preview Night. We hope everyone had a great night and we raised so much needed funds for the Charitable causes. Thank you.

David Keegan,Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, Mater Hospital

With the fantastic generosity of the Shabra Foundation (Castleblaney, Co.Monaghan) and their supporters we took delivery of our new state of the art Valon TT multi-spot laser on Saint Elizabeths ward in October. Shabra managed to fundraise for the new machine through three major events during 2013.

The new laser allows us to put on more complete treatments at each sitting thus reducing the number of visits the patients have to make, improving our efficiency. The procedures are now quicker (average time for a single eye laser session is now ~10 minutes instead of 20-30 minutes). The procedure is less painful for the patients which will aid compliance of attendance and has already led to a reduction in lasers under general anaesthetic in the past two months. As it is more user friendly our trainees are skilled up quickly on the technology and are readily attaining their training goals without inconveniencing the patients.

We are now a treatment centre for the National Diabetic RetinaScreen programme and we will be treating more diabetic patients in the next three years in particular. We need to be as efficient as possible. This new laser allows us to attain these treatment targets without having to increase staff numbers too much.

In these very difficult budgetary times we are increasingly reliant on charitable donations and patients’ generosity especially as we look to introduce new technology that will improve our patients treatment, experience and outcomes. All of us in the eye unit are exceptionally grateful to Rita Shah, Oliver Brady and the board at Shabra Foundation for choosing to support our department.

“Rita & Oliver, God has every reason to bless you and the donors of the Shabra Charity. You have turned the sorrow of many Kenyan children into laughter”

A heartwarming testimonial for Shabra Charity’s sponsorship of two young Kenyan sisters, who had been living on the street with no accommodation. Now, with Shabra’s help, they have been given suitable accommodation & educational facilities.

This is a shining example of the crucial support Shabra Charity seeks to provide people in need, both in Africa and at home in Ireland

“An aunt of mine, who was not given long to live with cancer has recovered after being treated at St’ Luke’s Hospital.

She is losing her eye sight as a result of the treatment – However she got her eyes done on your new machine in Dublin this week and expects full eyesight recovery.
She asked me to pass on her sincere thanks to all supporters of Shabra Charity, and everyone who has helped contribute to the purchase of this life-changing equipment. Nice to hear the difference that your good work has made.”

We are much grateful for supporting our children ,where by many of them  came from poor families but now they can access education.

Ewangan Emaa parents are looking forward to see you next time. We are much thankful for the class and the community hall you have funded for our children to learn.

On behalf of the parents of Ewangan Emaa School, we wish to see you again when the almighty god give you an opportunity to come.

God bless you Oliver, Rita, Lemo and entire Shabra Charity Foundation, for what you have done for our children.
