Golf enthusiasts will get a unique chance to really test their golf game when the Shabra Charity Foundation will hold their 45 Hole Golf Marathon at the splendid Moyvalley Hotel & Golf Resort on Wednesday 21st June 2023. The Charity are hoping that many golfers will take up the challenge and enter the event. Golfers will be able to test their golfing ability while at the same time helping the Charity in its fundraising efforts. This golf event is unique in its format and style. The appeal of this event combines a fun day out with the serious challenge for the best of golfers. Some will enter to challenge themselves over the 45 hole marathon and others will set out to be crowned the golf marathon champions.
The event will be known as the Oliver Brady Memorial 45 Hole Golf Marathon in aid of the Shabra Charity Foundation.
The funds raised on the day will go towards the upgrading of the Gene Sequencing equipment at the Mater Hospital. Gene Sequencing is the future of medicine and Shabra Charity has embarked on the next stage of fundraising for more modern equipment to help the specialists diagnose many serious illnesses much earlier and extend the lives of many patients with specialised treatment. Many Monaghan people have already benefitted from this programme and will continue to avail of these wonderful life saving techniques.
The Charity CEO, Rita Shah is asking all golfers who like to be challenged to consider entering this event. Rita stated that last years event was a resounding success and almost all last years participants have entered this years event already.
This is a Pairs/Singles event played over the splendid Moyvalley championship course and it will provide a stern test for golfers on the day. While many of the entrants will be striving to be crowned the marathon champion many others will take part to support the charity and enjoy the occasion.
The entry fee is €250 for a pair or €125 per player. For that the player will have entry into the 45 holes of golf, breakfast on the course, lunchtime refreshments and the price also includes entry to the Dinner & Presentation at Moyvalley Hotel after the golf.
To date entries have been received from golfers from counties such as Monaghan, Armagh, Dundalk, Galway, Meath, Kildare and Dublin. A great golf experience awaits everybody who comes out to support the charity.
